The Australian government offers a variety of different visas to potential immigrants; the type you need depends on what you’ll be doing there and how long you plan to stay there. These are the main types:
The skilled independent visa is a residency visa that’s open to those who have skills and qualifications that are in demand in Australia. You don’t require sponsorship from an employer to obtain one but you’ll be asked to pass a points test (which assesses your aptitude, experience, qualifications, etc.). A business visa is a similar option, which is often applied for by those whose skills and qualifications aren’t judged to be in demand by the Australian government, it doesn’t require you to pass a points test so long as you’re sponsored by an employer.
A working holiday visa offers those aged between 18 and 31 the opportunity to remain in Australia for up to 12 months (extensions are possible though). These are aimed at backpackers / travelers though and working rights are restricted to incidental employment of up to 6 months per employer to supplement your stay.
Retirement visas are designed for self-funded retirees who are over 55 years of age, have no dependants (other than a spouse who can be any age), and who want to reside in Australia during their retirement years. It gives you permission to stay in Australia for up to four years, at which point you must apply for new one.
To be granted a visa to study in Australia you must be fully enrolled in an Australian academic institution and receive a Confirmation of Enrollment (which is usually issued after tuition fees have been paid). If you also intend to gain employment with this visa you should apply for one with an accompanying right of ‘permission to work’.

It may lie just seventy miles off the coast of West Africa. But the small Canary Island of Lanzarote is Spanish owned. And has long been a hot favourite with British and Irish tourists – who accounted for over one million visitors last year,attracted by a delightful year round climate, good quality holiday accommodation and the island´s unique volcanic scenery.
There is a wide choice of Lanzarote apartments but if you prefer a more luxurious holiday then you can grab yourself a bargain Lanzarote holiday villa this summer as lower than expected visitor number means there are some good deals to be had.
Lanzarote is just four hours flying time from the UK – making it the closest winter sun destination to Britain and Eire. And is serviced by numerous low cost flight operators, such as Monarch, easy Jet and Thomas Cook. The sole airport on the island is called Arrecife and is located around 3km outside of the island capital of the same name. If you every come to the South Of England on a vacation then you simply must not miss a trip to the New Forest , the newest national park in the UK and One of the Worlds Heritage national park sites.
The idea for national parks first started in the United States and one of the first national parks was Yosemite of course.
Since that time many other countries have adopted this way of protecting and preserving the un-spoilt habitats of the world for future generations and for the preservation of endangered species as well.
The New Forest has a few endangered species itself but nothing like the American bald eagle that is now increasing in numbers due thankfully. The forest is home to a wide variety of species from bats to toads, the deer and the free roaming New Forest ponies.
Centuries and centuries ago the New Forest was to all intents and purposes open land but then one of the kings on of the day decided to make it a royal forest only to be used for the royal pursuit of hunting, and local folk who had lived off the land for centuries found themselves unable to hunt the land for food to feed their family, penalties for contravening the law were severe and in later time fatal.
Fortunately over time sanity prevailed and today you will find many animals wandering the forest grazing as the local “commoners” exercise their right to graze their live stock on the common ground.
The New Forest is also home to some of the oldest woodland in England with an oak tree said to be over 400 years old, Not as grand and the giant redwoods although there are a few of those here as well.
A holiday in the New Forest opens up a wide diversity of activities for those on vacation here from simply going on one of the forest walks to mountain biking (only not too many mountains here so very suitable for younger children) and if you are a horse rider then you will be in seventh heaven as there are no riding restriction across the open country side.
If you are having a family holiday the Park has a number of really olde worlde family friendly New Forest Cottages you can rent and if you have a penchant for the quaint then you will just love the old thatched roofs and if your lucky gardens that literally take you out into the forest from your back door.
If you prefer the outdoor lifestyle then the forest has a number of designated campsites with and without facilities so you can enjoy New Forest camp sites the easy way or the hard way , the choice is up to you.
One of the most popular areas of the New Forest has to be the picturesque Village of Beaulieu which is actually part of a massive 7000 acre estate (by UK standards) estate belonging to the Montagu family who’s ancestors have owned the land and property since the early 1500 after the dissolution of the monasteries by King Henry VIII.
Part of the estate is used for the National Motor Museum which must rank as one of the best museums of automotive history in the world with exhibits that span motoring history not only by age but also by achievement as a number of land speed record breakers are exhibited here.
There is also the Abbey to visit which whilst not to much to see these days still gives you an idea of the grandeur and power of the church in early British history.
The now Beaulieu Palace house itself was originally the gatehouse to the abbey here although it has been subsequently extended.
A visit here shouldn’t be restricted to the forest alone as only a short drive down the coast you can find some of the cleanest beaches in the UK some of which have achieved blue flag status. They are even building the northern hemisphere’s first artificial ref here as well for the local surfing community so if you like to surf you can try it out UK style.
Poole in the County of Dorset is not only famous for having one of the worlds largest harbours, but also for the number of famous people who live here, and one particular area has the most expensive house prices in the whole of England, still. That is simply one of theh crosses.

New Forest Destinations – Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary

An absolute must see place to visit in the New Forest is Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary and the Ornamental Drive. A beautiful drive to get here and a trip that is worth a whole day or to come back again and again. A very happy day can easily be spent here for the whole family.
In case you didn’t know the New Forest National park was once the hunting grounds of the former kings of England, and some of the ancient traditions are still practiced today by the commoners.
The car park at Bolderwood gets really busy, so on a really lovely sunny day, plan your trip early to avoid disappointment. Adjacent to the car park and the woodland there is an open green which is great for having your picnic and a family/friendly game of rounders. You can get a delicious forest ice cream from the resident ice cream van here.
In the woody area at the entrance to Bolderwood you will find picnic tables, portable barbeque facilities and toilets. Here you will also find an information centre, often manned by a friendly forest ranger who can help with questions about the forest. Children and adults can have some fun seeing how many questions they can answer from the quiz!
Once you have entered into the Woodland area at Bolderwood there is a choice of variable well marked walks you can choose from. The shortest is about half a mile long and this walk will take you past the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary. There is a viewing platform here where you can look out across the forest to see how many deer you can spot. The forest feed some deer from here, so if you get the time just right, you can often see a many a deer feeding and grazing.
You can take the Jubilee Walk which will take you through the Bolderwood Arboretum which began in the 1800’s. The arboretum is a marvellous display of many types of trees. Many trees were very sadly lost here during storms in the 1987 and again in 1991. Further trees have been planted now and is an ongoing plan to return this part of the forest back to its original glory.
An alternative stroll through this beautiful ancient woodland area will show you many more varieties of trees such as Chestnut, Beech, Oak and Norway Spruce. This walk is called the Radnor Trail and will also bring you about to the marvellous Deer Sanctuary and the viewing platform, if you haven’t spotted any Deer already during your walk.
The New Forest Cycling network which takes you through the many finest parts of the forest and links many of the major villages includes Bolderwood. Cycling through Bolderwood which includes the Ornamental drive is beautiful and can take about 3 and one half hours.
During your visit to Bolderwood you must take the time to drive through Bolderwoods Ornamental Drive. This is at its most beautiful during the summer and its windy narrow road takes you through the tremendous ancient woodland. It forms part of the 100 mile New Forest Cycling network so there are many cyclists along this route and because of its beauty the drive does become quite busy, so please be careful.
