Indulging in A Barbados Vacation

Posted by traveltips

A Barbados vacation on this beautiful Caribbean isle comes highly recommended, and there is plenty for the tourist to see and do.

Located to the north east of the South American continent, Barbados offers travelers a combination of unique culture, beautiful ocean and plenty of watersports. The island is divided into five separate regions, and, as each of them sport their own world class attractions and activities, tourists should make the most of their getaway and visit region in turn.

Money in Barbados is known as the Barbadian Dollar and worth about 1/2 that of the US Dollar. This currency is widelly used and accepted on the island. If you choose to take a cruise to Barbados you will most likely dock in the island capital of Bridgetow. It is here where visitors find the most extensive shopping options. When visiting capital you will witness one of the oldest synagogues and a historic Parliament Building. You will also find the George Washington House and Garrison Savannah.

The city of Bridgetown should not be confused with the area of the same name, and “Bridgetown” is therefore also one of the five regions that the island is divided into. No Barbados vacation would be complete without a visit to the capital, however, and it is recommended that tourists make the city their home base while they tour the island. The centre of the island is much more nature filled with lush, green vegetation and offers attractions such as the Wildlife Reserve and Harrison's Cave.

On the East Coast of Barbados the Atlantic Ocean creates much more volatile surf conditions, and is home to the island’s most reknown surf break Soup Bowl. If you have a keen sense of adventure and enjoy hiking you should consider vacationing on the East Coast. This is were you will be able to surf and enjoy mother nature’s finest beauties. If you are new to the sport of surfing then its not recommended that you surf at Bathseba as this can be quite dangerous. The West Coast offers visitors the somewhat gentler Caribbean Sea as well as stunning travel destinations like the town of Fustic, known for its exquisite birdlife and its Fustic wine, and Holetown, the oldest settlement on the island which lures visitors with its upscale hotels and restaurants.

There is one airport on the island where all major flights arrive and depart. This airport is called Grantley Adams Airport and can be found on the island’s south coast. This area also offers tourists several luxury golf and country clubs, attractive holiday apartments as well as an almost perfect public transportation system. When vacation on the south coast of Barbados you should take the time to visit St Lawrence Gap for some authentic Bajan night life as well as the Graeme Hall Nature Reserve.

Indulging in a Barbados vacation is the perfect way to forget the disappointments and frustrations of everyday life, and everyone should treat themselves to this type of first-rate getaway once every couple of years.

Could the Caribbean be one of the top holidays in the world!

Posted by traveltips

Right now we all know that the holiday season is bearing down on us, and we all want to get ready to book our holidays. We all have a favourite place to go on holiday, but whereabouts in the Caribbean is best for you to head on vacation. There are islands to visit and there are some that you just need to avoid.

So there is probably one island that is the best to visit and gets the best reviews, but which one of these is it. Well St Lucia is probably top of the list, with all kinds of holidays available. This is the sunshine island of the Caribbean, not to mention the place for you to get some deep spa treatments. Spa days and swimming in the ocean, if this is what makes your perfect sunny holiday, then you have to make that effort to visit St Lucia. If you want to take your whole family on a Caribbean holiday and know they are safe, this is regarded as one of the safest islands in the Caribbean. The staff at all of the hotels have received very good reviews being named as friendly and accommodating. Yes St Lucia, also has a Forest, and some hotels want to make your stay even more pleasant by giving you a free safari tour.

Now that we know where we should go on holiday, and which is the best location, this next place you might like to consider avoiding. There is definitely one island that stands out among the rest. When you head to the most southerly of the Caribbean islands, you reach the smaller island of Trinidad. Now this island has a somewhat bad reputation with tourists, and fore one very powerful reason. Trinidad has a bizarrely high burglary rate and murder rate. Do you really need another reason to go on holiday to a different holiday. You definitely have to go to St Lucia!

So the Caribbean holidays are just around the corner, where are you going to go, how do St Lucia holidays sound, maybe you like the clubbing lifestyle, in which case Barbados holidays are the best option!

Cruise holidays aren’t as good as the good old fashioned beach holiday!

Posted by traveltips

The time is coming when we decide on where to go for our holidays later on in the year. That’s right, Christmas is upon us, and then immediately after that is the mad rush for those holiday bookings. It is time to start looking at who will be taking on the beach holiday in the heavyweight for for summer, let’s see how we think cruise holidays could fair up.

Cruises have become a massive holiday experience, all across the world these exotic and rather large cruise ships are transporting people around in style. Cruise ships have been that little niche market, however now they are coming out of their shell a bit. It was something new for people to try, if you had a lot of money. However now things are slightly different and now people from all walks of life have this opportunity. Although you get a large amount of tourists on one ship, sometimes over 3 thousand, the massive size of this ship helps to make it able to cope with this. Cruise Ships have a massive amount of entertainment on board, there are even some with an artificial wave generator on the top of them for surfers.

Bringing up the traditional side of things, is those holidays where you travel to a single location, no bustling about or travelling miles, but just enjoying the sun on a remote island. We will use one location as an example let’s say the Caribbean. Some great locations like St Lucia, Barbados or Antigua along with many others. If you want to save a little bit of cash, a cruise holiday is not the best way to go, and although Caribbean holidays are also a bit pricey, they do not cost as much, and they are considered more luxurious too. However you only get to experience one location, and is that going to be enough for you?

So what are you going to plan for your holiday next year, Caribbean holidays also come in that crucial cruise mix as well, where as St Lucia holidays and Barbados holidays are great, especially for those that just want to sun!
